Understand the environment. Define the system.

Remote field power
Power planning for equipment beyond the grid.
Environmental monitoring, field instruments and remote equipment each bring different demands for access, runtime and maintenance.
Application inputs
Voltage, continuous and peak load, runtime and the equipment interface.
Configuration focus
Transport, installation space, environmental conditions and maintenance access.

Emergency backup
Plan ahead for the moments that matter.
From temporary communications to essential field equipment, define the backup objective before choosing the power configuration.
Application inputs
Backup duration, start-up sequence, peak demand and equipment connections.
Configuration focus
Deployment workflow, operator requirements, output management and validation.

Marine observation
Understand the environment. Define the system.
For coastal and marine monitoring equipment, installation location and service access are as important as electrical requirements.
Application inputs
Equipment load, operating cycle, installation location and environmental exposure.
Configuration focus
Enclosure requirements, interface compatibility, corrosion exposure and servicing.

Specialized supply starts with the equipment that needs to keep working.

Power for essential field support.
Communications terminals, navigation equipment and portable electronics for training, logistics and field support.
- Plan equipment charging and DC compatibility
- Define carried mass, setup steps and material replenishment
- Agree environmental and electrical acceptance tests

Keep response teams connected.
Temporary communications, portable lighting and information equipment for disaster response and rescue coordination.
- Prioritize essential loads during a grid outage
- Plan startup, deployment and reserve duration
- Provide clear operator and replenishment procedures

Bring power to the observation point.
Environmental instruments, remote data loggers and communications gateways where site access is limited.
- Measure standby and active duty cycles
- Size usable energy for the service interval
- Evaluate solar, storage and reserve combinations

Plan around access and exposure.
Coastal monitoring stations, observation buoys and remote marine instruments with scheduled maintenance access.
- Define corrosion and enclosure requirements
- Match load and service access windows
- Plan handling of electrolyte and spent materials

Compare aluminum-air with methanol fuel cells and diesel generators against the same operating brief.
Explore an alternative fuel pathway.
For projects considering direct methanol fuel cells, evaluate an aluminum-air reserve around the required load, deployment period and replenishment workflow.
Request a replacement assessment ↗Where aluminum-air fits
- Reserve and intermittent-duty applications
- Projects seeking an aluminum-based replenishment route
- A separate reserve alongside an existing primary supply
What to compare
Whole-system usable energy, carried mass, startup, service frequency and fuel or material logistics. Methanol systems offer established automatic battery charging; aluminum-air requires a planned electrode, electrolyte and residue-handling workflow.
Separate essential loads from bulk power.
Assess aluminum-air supply for communications, monitoring and selected lighting loads, while retaining a generator where high-power tools, heating or large AC loads require it.
Request a replacement assessment ↗Replacement or hybrid route
- Replace a small-load supply only after electrical validation
- Evaluate a battery-buffered reserve for generator-off periods
- Keep high-power loads on a properly sized generator
What to compare
Measure the real load profile, generator operating hours, service needs and acoustic requirements. Extended light-load diesel operation can need additional maintenance; quantify any runtime or fuel reduction through a site trial.
Combine sources around the duty cycle.
A rechargeable buffer can serve startup and short peaks, while an appropriately rated aluminum-air source supplies energy within its tested operating range.
Request a replacement assessment ↗Build the architecture
- Define the DC bus, charger and protection interfaces
- Coordinate solar, grid or generator charging where appropriate
- Specify switching, autonomy and replenishment procedures
What to compare
Check the buffer capacity, charge rate, conversion losses and recovery time. Peak output comes from the rated buffer and electronics; it must not be inferred from aluminum-air energy capacity.
Selection is based on verified system output, usable energy and site conditions. We assess full replacement or a hybrid arrangement for each application.
